How to remove mold from wooden cutting boards

September 6th at 3:26pm

Using baking soda and white vinegar: First, rinse the cutting board with water, then sprinkle some baking soda on top of the board, and pour in some white vinegar. The two will react and absorb a lot of dirt from the gaps in the cutting board. Afterwards, wipe it with detergent and scouring pad, and finally brush it with a steel wire ball. Rinse it clean with water and let it dry on the balcony. ‌

Use salt and scouring pad: Heat the cutting board with boiling water, add salt, and then repeatedly wipe the cutting board with scouring pad. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then pour some white vinegar onto the cutting board to sterilize and remove dirt again. Finally, rinse it with water and let it dry in a cool place. ‌

Use sandpaper and baking soda: first wet the cutting board with sandpaper, repeatedly wipe it to remove the stains, and rinse it clean with water. Then evenly sprinkle baking soda on the cutting board, and repeatedly wipe it with new sandpaper to achieve the effect of sterilization and stain removal. ‌

Use alcohol or vinegar: Wipe off mold spots and rinse thoroughly with clean water. ‌

After removing mold, be sure to rinse the wooden cutting board with clean water to avoid any residue from affecting the board. At the same time, in order to prevent the wooden cutting board from becoming moldy again, it is necessary to keep its surface clean and tidy, regularly clean and disinfect it, and place it in a ventilated and dry place.
